As a huge fan of David Lynch and a Dune defender, I find this article a pleasure to read. I've always loved this scene. If anything, the butchered theatrical cut had moments of great ugliness made beautiful and this was one of then. I do want to make a slight correction though - the Baron does not shout. We actually hear his inner voice. His nephews therefore don't hear that he's planning to do this to the Duke.

On a side note, do you have an episode in the Dune Conversations where you discuss the multiple cuts of Dune that exist out there?
